Lolipot Restaurant-Localize Shabu-shabu

I was graving for Shabu-shabu for few days. I miss KL Shabu-shabu so much. Then I found out that there is a newly open shabu-shabu restaurant near Queensbay. Without hesitation, I bring my dear to try it out. I was excited to see this kind of restaurant to be operate in Penang. The name of this restaurant is sweet, sound like my favourite lollipop sweet. The place was located opposite OXO cafelab, it is the opposite side not same side as OXO. I waste some time to find the place because seem like not really much people know about the place. I went for dinner and they only have buffet at night but for lunch time, you can order ala carte/ set.

The environment is nice but service not very good. When I arrived, the place was quite empty and I was standing there for more than 5 minutes, no one come to show us a seat. Those waitress saw us but pretend they are so busy until I have to approach them. This is bad service! Okay after I got myself a seat, but no one came to ask us what type of soup we want or tell us what can we have for buffet. I seat there for 10 minute until I have the kind of thinking to walk away. Then I approached the waitress again in very bad mood.  

They serve 3 type of soup-rice wine soup, tomyam soup and clear soup. Due to CNY, they came out a new Sharkfin soup which need extra RM5. I took the rice wine soup which think it will be special.  Drinks and ice-cream are serve on the side of the table where it is self service. Besides, all those ingredients are on the conveyor belt except the pork slice, beef slice, lamb slice and prawn that have to order. The ingredients place on the conveyor belt are little some even didn't refill for awhile. I thought this is a buffet where we should serve as many as we can eat but this limit us to eat. I called 2 plate of pork, 1 plate of lamb and beef each and 2 plate of prawns. When I wanted to order another plate of pork slice, they said the pork meat is too hard to cut so cant order now. Aren't the kitchen should prepare everything when they start business. Sweat!!

The rice wine soup is tasteless, worst than normal clear soup I have for steamboat. My dear call Tomyam soup which only have spiciness.  Many of the seafood are not fresh like prawns and fish. They also served Japanese octopus but only one in a plate with only one time. So this is buffet?

If you ask me to pay RM30 for such buffet I rather go back KL to have shabu-shabu in Bandar Puteri that is so so much better than this one and also cheaper. At least I can take prawns and octopus from the conveyor belt as many as I like plus they also served fried foods. If they cant afford to serve people food, then don't place buffet as your menu. I can said, this is my first and also last time to visit this place. Bad service with service charge 10%.
